When we last visited Tom Sachs and NIKECRAFT; it was thanks to an oversized, over-the-top weatherproof erected shroud that covered the Mars Yard 2.0. But if that was not enough for you to realize that Sachs x Nike are in the business of overdoing…then you just might catch their drift with the NIKECRAFT Transitions Collection.
“I want to start by reminding all of us that NIKECRAFT isn’t just a brand, it’s a philosophy and an approach to how we do stuff based on transparency and evidence of construction,” – Tom Sachs
This philosophy is akin to Nike’s core belief of pushing the boundaries of innovation. Resulting in a collection that challenges conceptual thought and function when it comes to basic items such as a poncho or waistbag or even shorts.
Launch of the NIKECRAFT Transitions Collection takes place April 27 in Japan. Coinciding with Tom Sachs’ “Tea Ceremony” exhibition at Tokyo Opera Gallery. With a global release to follow. Stay with Sole-U for further info and updates.
