Let’s take a trip…a trip back in time to 1991. The NBA All-Star Game visited Jordan’s home of North Carolina; Charlotte to be exact. And it was at that time where MJ debuted the ‘Black Infrared’ Air Jordan 6. Or simply known as ‘Infrared’. The silhouette would be propelled to megastardom, just as the colorway which was in heavy rotation during Jordan and the Bulls’ run to their first championship.
Having last released in 2014, the color scheme makes its return in a near true form as Nike Air graces the heel for the first time since the Air Jordan 6 Retro+ iteration in 2000 and the OG in 1991 before that. Also, gone is the “Infrapink” that caused quite the stir last time around and back to a deeper, more traditional Infrared.
All-Star Saturday is when the ‘Infrared’ Air Jordan 6 Retro drops its latest iteration the day before Mike’s birthday and once again for a Charlotte All-Star Game. With a price tag of $200 MSRP on SNKRS and a bevy of Jordan Brand retailers.
