808s & Heartbreak Anniversary Tour to Begin in 2019 Without Kanye West

“Memories made in the coldest winter” – Kanye West

It is rather appropriate that the title of the track to conclude the symphonic odyssey that is 808s & Heartbreak gives birth to another chapter in the story that is the album’s appellation. Malik Yusef who boasts credits on the album’s roll-call of producers, songwriters and executives announced a tour beginning in 2019 celebrating the album’s decade-anniversary. Having released in November 2008, the album was a drastic shift from what we gathered from Kanye West’s trilogy. Complete with synthesizers, manipulated pitches, an electropop feel and heavy utilization of Autotune…the album was an expression of heartbreak following the death of West’s mother in November 2007.

The tour will feature shows in 15 cities, but without Kanye West. Instead local artists in each city will perform the album in its entirety. With the tour beginning in Los Angeles and ending in New York. While details are scarce, and no dates on the docket presently known to the public…we’ll continue to update this story as details arise.
