It was confirmed over the weekend that the Los Angeles Lakers will redesign their iconic uniforms for the 2018-19 season. Which will be the first of at least three with LeBron James on the roster. Ushering in a new era of Lakers basketball. And with that comes a new look, with a planned reveal on July 30th. Sporting a modified variation of their design for nearly two decades since Nike took over the NBA’s outfitting duties last season…this reveal might feature a return to a look from yesteryear.
Most notable is the U-shape collar of the Lore Series City Uniform which was worn by Kobe in his rookie season and early years of the Mamba’s career…and it might be on its way to a return. And perhaps Kyle Kuzma dropped a hint:
Trent Daniel, graphic designer for the Arkansas Razorbacks and Lakers fan gives the world an idea, a hope of what the Lakers will reveal on July 30th.
My ideal situation for the @Lakers brand update. I like the richness of the old wordmark, but the current mark is just cleaner and easier to digest. Bringing back drop shadow numbers are a must. @sportslogosnet @UniWatch pic.twitter.com/sMsJeda66e
