All-Star Weekend will be a grand celebration, one that is 30-years in the making. Three decades ago Michael Jordan wowed the hometown Chicago faithful with an iconic display in the 1988 Slam Dunk Contest. The iconic image of Jordan soaring through the air with the greatest of ease in the ‘White Cement’ Air Jordan 3 that made the moment special within the sneaker community. Immortalized in 2013 with the Air Jordan 3 Retro ’88 which brought Nike Air back to the silhouette.
Where the next night MJ laced the ‘Black Cement’ Air Jordan 3 and went on to take home the game’s Most Valuable Player Award. Further etching the Air Jordan 3 into legendary status. With a full remastering, the Air Jordan 3 Retro is not shortchanged as Nike Air graces the heel and outsole in its original look. Release is scheduled for MJ’s birthday, February 17th.
Expect this to be a limited launch.
