#1996. The date was Sunday, February 11th, 1996; Michael Jordan was participating in his first All-Star Game since his initial retirement. So of course, knowing Jordan’s flare for the dramatic…he had to impress and cause quite the stir. Tinker Hatfield’s legendary design of the Air Jordan 11 was debuted in a new colorway. Providing a stark contrast to the teal away uniforms of the Eastern Conference All-Stars…the Air Jordan 11 beautifully wore an all-white leather/patent leather along with those light blue accents. What was later known as Columbia Blue.
After a retro appearance in early 2001, the then-‘Columbia’ Air Jordan 11 came back with in its original form but with a completely clear ice outsole. The wait has been long but after 13 years, the colorway has returned and has been re-branded with a new nickname…Legend Blue. The ‘Legend Blue’ Air Jordan 11 is an homage to original featuring a slightly lighter shade of blue but also uses a blue tinted ice outsole similar to the OG pair.
The ‘Legend Blue’ Air Jordan 11 drops this Saturday. Will you be purchasing a pair?
